It is estimated that the Solar Tunnel will “reduce CO2 emissions by 2,400 tons per year.”
The major problem is encouraging greater use of a product that, in the future, is leading to the end of life on this planet as we know it.

“However hard they try to suppress government funding and tax breaks for renewables, Big Oil and Big Gas are doomed to lose, and in only about 4 years.”
head of the Department of Environmental Conservation’s Division of Mineral Resources, Bradley J. Field claims that there is “no convincing evidence” that manmade greenhouse gases will disrupt the earth’s climate. On the contrary, the petition cites “substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the earth.”
Society as a whole picks up the tab for the damage or ignores and denies the damage by human carbon emissions. Fossil fuel producers and consumers have avoided paying for these external costs to coal power.
“This is one labor dispute that the capitalist cannot win.”
“China, which in 2006 took over the U.S.’s historical position as the world’s biggest emitter, raced ahead in 2010, emitting 9.1bn tons – up 15.5 percent on the previous year, and a 240 percent increase since 1992. That makes China alone responsible for about one-quarter of global carbon emissions from energy, emitting about 48 percent more than the U.S.”
The appeal from the advocates is to stop the destruction. Honestly, the devastation is going to occur, we will see a rise in global average temperature by 2 C. The hope is that action will be taken to reduced much greater devastation from more carbon pollution and a further rise in temperature.
Fracking would be permitted only in counties in the southwest portion of the state, bordering Pennsylvania—Broome, Chenango, Steuben, and Tioga counties
