A little further research revealed that the current IBOT uses an advanced nickel cadmium battery system that will run all day after 4-6 hours of charging.

The article in Transformations, a Journal of People and Change published on the Internet by Worcester Polytechnic Institute, also informs us that DEKA is exploring a lighter, cheaper, higher-capacity battery that “will likely spawn a new technology with much wider applications.”
According to their website, the focus of DEKA Research & Development Corporation is on the design of advanced medical products that are easier to use, more accurate, and more functional than the products they would replace.
Note: Although the IBOT was invented and developed at DEKA, it, will be marketed and sold by Independence Technology, a division of Johnson & Johnson. DEKA requests that you please consult their website, www.indetech.com for questions regarding price and availability.
A dollar jump in gas prices later…
I wonder if the new technology will be anything like this fuel cell motorcycle?
