Gordon Dower designed the Ridek concept, which separates the undercarriage (read mode-ek) from the carriage (read ride-on). Five years ago this blog found the idea intriguing, and began to see similar design elsewhere, e.g., the Sequel skateboard chassis designed by GM engineers.
Recently, Autoblog Green has reported on the new Trexa EV (Electric Vehicle) platform. The kit is for the hobbyist who wants to build an EV.
An ABG commentator notes the similarity to GM skateboard chassis, as do ABG reporters. So, it could be another way to hype the Chevy Volt. There is much hope / hype as it nears production.
