The electric kettle has stopped shutting off automatically. While it
still heats the water, the auto shut-off, a safety feature, was the
reason for purchase.
I had chosen the particular manufacturer, i.e., Black & Decker because I hoped for product reliability.
Today I learned that the warranty had expired on the unit purchased
about 13 months ago and that a discount coupon was available for the
purchase of a replacement. I declined. Why continue to support planned
obsolescence?
