While reading the six principles of persuasion identified by Robert Cialdini in Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion, it struck me that there seems to be an overlap between the principles of persuasion and the characteristics of emergent systems identified by Johnson in Emergence: The Connected Lives of Ants, Brains, Cities, and Software.
