The hold-up has been battery supply. Toyota was pressed to obtain sufficient batteries for the Prius when sales took off. Now they seem to believe there will sufficient advanced lithium batteries to sell a game changing plug-in.
Electric drive was too expensive an option for a hybrid auto-rickshaw.
While the U.S. Congress continues to ignore the warning signs, China leads the world in development of clean energy resources.
